Charlie Kirk Asked the Question Christians Avoid

“Charlie Kirk wasn’t racist. He was just criticizing DEI.” But criticizing DEI and seeing a Black professional and immediately questioning whether they’re qualified are two very different things. In this episode of **Anatomy of a Racist Argument**, we examine Kirk’s statement: “If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, ‘Boy, I hope he’s qualified.’” We give Kirk the context of his argument—and then examine the assumption underneath it. Airline pilots still have to meet FAA certification, training, testing, and flight-experience requirements. Yet in Kirk’s example, simply seeing that the pilot is Black becomes a reason to question his competence. We also look at the history that often gets erased from the DEI debate: affirmative action and equal-employment policies didn’t introduce race into a previously race-neutral meritocracy.
